These Terms of Service govern your use of residential waste collection services provided by True North Sanitation. By signing up for service, you agree to these terms. Please read them — we've written them to be straightforward.
1. Service Description
True North Sanitation provides residential curbside waste collection services in authorized service areas within Wright County, Minnesota. Services include weekly trash pickup and, where applicable, biweekly recycling collection.
Service availability is subject to municipal licensing requirements. We will notify you if your address falls outside our current service area.
2. Service Agreement
There is no long-term contract required. Service continues on a quarterly basis until cancelled by either party. You may cancel at any time with reasonable notice (see Section 6).
A one-year rate lock applies from your service start date. Your monthly rate will not increase during that period.
3. Billing and Payment
We bill quarterly in advance. You will receive an invoice by email prior to each billing period. Payment is due by the date specified on your invoice.
Accepted payment methods include check, credit card, and bank transfer. We do not store payment card information — all card transactions are processed securely through third-party payment processors.
Accounts that remain unpaid may result in suspension of service. We will make reasonable efforts to contact you before suspending service.
4. Cart and Equipment
True North Sanitation provides a 95-gallon cart for trash collection and, where applicable, a cart for recycling. Carts remain the property of True North Sanitation and must be returned upon cancellation of service.
- Carts should be placed at the curb by 6:30 am on your scheduled pickup day.
- Carts should not be overfilled or blocked by vehicles or other obstructions.
- Customers are responsible for damage to carts caused by misuse or negligence.
Additional carts may be available for an additional monthly fee. Contact us to discuss your options.
5. Acceptable Materials
Standard household trash is accepted. The following materials are not accepted in regular trash collection:
- Hazardous materials including paints, solvents, pesticides, and automotive fluids
- Batteries, including lithium-ion batteries
- Medical sharps or biohazardous waste
- Electronics (e-waste)
- Propane tanks or other pressurized containers
- Construction or demolition debris
- Liquid waste
Placing prohibited materials in your cart may result in the cart being left uncollected. We are not liable for fines or costs resulting from improper disposal of prohibited materials.
6. Cancellation and Refunds
You may cancel service at any time by contacting us by phone, text, or email. Upon cancellation:
- Service will terminate as soon as practicable or on a mutually agreed to date.
- A pro-rated refund will be issued for the unused portion of your previously paid service.
- Carts must be returned or made available for pickup within a reasonable timeframe.
True North Sanitation reserves the right to terminate service with reasonable notice for non-payment, repeated placement of prohibited materials, or other material violations of these terms.
7. Missed Pickups and Service Issues
If your trash is not collected on your scheduled day, please contact us promptly. We will make reasonable efforts to remedy missed pickups.
Service may occasionally be delayed due to weather, road conditions, equipment issues, or holidays. We will communicate known delays as soon as practicable.
We are not responsible for missed pickups caused by carts not being placed at the curb by the scheduled time, blocked access, or other circumstances outside our control.
